Brewers Make Solid Move With Kendall Contract

I love the Jason Kendall signing and deal. $4.25 million with incentives and '09 club option with a 110 games played contingency is a solid and fair deal. The Crew is getting a gritty, 33 year old veteran that has plenty to prove. Kendall self admittingly had a bad offensive and defensive year in '07 and is super primed to improve his numbers and work with the young and upcoming Brewers.

The Brewers will make more moves. Doug Melvin has proven that he knows talent and a player's value $$.

Think possitively, Brewer fans. Enjoy the holidays and look forward to an exciting '08 for the Crew.

Cordero Signs With Reds

Pending an uneventful physical, Francisco Cordero is now a Cincinnati Red. Cordero just inked a four year $46 million deal. Bye, Bye Franky! I can't believe the Crew offered him $42 million. The Reds can have him at that price.

I'm a firm believer that a good team can always go out and find someone to close games. If you have a team that is strong in most aspects of the game except say a solid closer, that team can normally make a deal with a struggling team that happens to have one.

Now it's time to see what deals the Brewer "Brass" can make. I still have all the confidence in the world in Melvin and company.

Don't panic, Brewer faithful! Everything will be just fine. Personally, I can't wait to see Cordero cough up his fair share of games in'08. Don't get me wrong............. I thought Francisco did a real nice job for the Crew. It's just that his asking price was way too high.

Go Crew!!

Brewers Sign Kendall; Move Estrada

Hey, Brewer Fans.

It was nice to see the Brewers make a couple of moves. Cutting Johnny Estrada loose and signing Jason Kendall for a one year deal were good moves to make. It appears that Estrada was kind of a cancer in the clubhouse( that seems to be the case wherever Johnny hangs his cleats). Although Kendall had an off year with the bat and didn't have much success throwing out runners, he brings some much needed pitcher/catcher/situational knowledge to the Crew.
Jason knows how to call a good game and he will be very good with our young starters. And.....We only had to commit for one year.

I don't think the Brewers are done making moves. I'm looking forward to seeing what Mr. Melvin does next. Ya got to let the "mustache" work his magic. I feel good about this team.
Keep the faith!! Check out the Crews latest moves at http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=mil.

Go Brewers.

Ryan Braun Wins NL Rookie of The Year!

Kudos to Ryan Braun!! Braun was named the National League Rookie of the year, edging out Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki by two votes. It was one of the closest votes in Major league history. Both rookies had phoenominal numbers and played major roles in the success of their prospective team.

Braun hit .324, knocked out 34 homers, drove in 97 Runs and set the National League Rookie slugging percentage with a .634 % mark.

It's a shame that one of these talented rookies had to come in second place in the voting.
I'm pretty partial, though........... Braun was the man! He made an immediate impact upon being called up and became one of the best #3 hitters in the game.

I'm looking forward to seeing Braun and Fielder terrorize National League pitchers for years to come.

The '08 season is just around the corner. I can't wait to get out to the Miler Park to see these young studs carry the Crew to its first divisional title in decades.

Winter Meetings around the Corner

Hey, Brewer Fans! Believe it or not, MLB winter meetings are right around the corner. What will Melvin and company do? I have all the confidence in the world that if there is a deal out there to be make, Melvin will get the job done!

It will interesting to see if the Crew can land a dependable starter, some bullpen help and maybe another outfielder. Will Billy Hall still be a Brewer come spring training?
