Gwynn to Center and Villanueva and Parra Start Season On Staff

In my humble opinion, the Milwaukee Brewers should begin the season starting Tony Gwynn Jr. in centerfield and should also break camp with Manny Parra and Carlos Villanueva on their pitching staff.

Gwynn has had a great camp hitting over .375, has run the bases well and is playing solid defensively. Tony is a great bunter and deserves the shot to hold down centerfield until Mike Cameron finshes serving his suspension.

Prior to yesterday's poor performance, Parra has pitched very well. If Capuano gets bad news from his recent MRI and can't start the season with the club and with Randy Choate's broken hand taking him out the picture, it looks like the Crew is going to need another lefty on its staff.

Villanueva has been very effective this spring and is ready to fill a starting rotation spot and/or log significant innings in the pen.

These three youngsters should be in brewtown for the Milwaukee Brewer's Opener on 4/4.
