Milwaukee Brewers Sweep Giants, Improve to 5-1; Sheets Throws Shutout

The Milwaukee Brewers have got off to a hot start and are now 5-1! Ben Sheets got the Crew to 5-1, pitching his second career shutout. Benny tossed a 5 hitter, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Sheets threw the ball very well and had good velocity and movement. His curveball was top notch.

Gabe Kapler and Ryan Braun led the way offesively with both jacking no doubter homeruns to leftfield.

The Brewers swept the punchless Giants outscoring them 25-8.

The Crew is getting contributions from many, not just a few. Billy Hall cracked two homeruns in the Brew's opener on Friday; Kapler homered in both Saturday and Sundays contests; Corey Hart is hitting, stealing and running the bases well; Rickie Weeks is scoring a lot of runs; Jason Kendall is hitting well and calling good games and the pitching staff is performing quite well.

The Brewers get a well deserved day off today, 4/7 and open a three game series with the Reds on Tuesday. Check out the latest Brewers news here. It's usually pretty up to date.
