Milwaukee Brewers Take Two of Three Against Cardinals; Play Game four of Series Today

It certainly wasn't for the faint of heart, but the Milwaukee Brewers took two of three games against their central division rivals St. Louis Cardinals this past weekend.

Rickie Weeks provided some magic with a two-out game winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning on Friday and Ryan Braun clobbered two homeruns on Sunday. The Brewers needed these two games about as bad as team can in early May.

Saturday was a bit of a heartbreaker. Ben Sheets pitched a solid seven innings and gave the Brewers a chance to win. Unfourtunately, Jason Kendall missed a sign to execute a suicide squeeze play in the eigth inning and killed a Brewer rally. Eric Gagne threw some gasoline on the fire and surrendered two runs in the top half of the ninth giving the Cardinals a 5-3 win.

Now it's Monday and the Brewers could go a long way in helping themselves and fans forget about their most previous, horrible road trip with a win today against the Cardinals. Taking three of four from the Cards would be huge.

What Say You?
