Brewers on the Cover of Sports Illustrated

Brewers TPlush

What is every athletes dream? To make on the Sports Illustrated Cover or the Wheaties box. Ryan Braun won't admit that it was ever his goal to have been featured on the infamous sports magazine's front page, but he is happy for the national coverage.

So are his two colleges who also grace the cover, Prince Fielder and Nyjer Morgan. Titled “Living The High Life” the connected article focuses on Morgan's alias “T-Plush” and the teams character filled roster.

Second Sports Illustrated Cover for Ryan Braun

Although Braun was pictured on the cover in 2008 along with five other players this is the first time in nearly 25 years that the Brewers have been exclusively on the front. Rob Deer's lone appearance in 1987 was the last time a solo member of the team smiled for SI cameras. This will be the 6 time that SI have a Brewer on the feature article. Robin Yount was shown twice in October of 1982, before him Rollie Fingers in 1981, and in 1979 manager George Bamberger.

As for the purported Sports Illustrated cover jinx Braun seemed more eager to talk about the Madden video game jinx, Morgan pleaded the fifth, and Fielder claimed that he had never heard of it.
