Brewers First Baseman Mat Gamel Tears ACL

Things are not looking so great for Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Mat Gamel, who tore his ACL in his right knee during last night's Brewers vs. Padres game. Gamel will most likely miss the rest of the season since he will need surgery. It's not likely he will be able to return at all this season after surgery. The loss of Gamel is unfortunate for the Brewers, who were looking to see if Gamel could be the new first baseman after the loss of Prince Fielder to the Detroit Tigers. Gamel had waited patiently for a chance to play first base and now that his opportunity arrived, he'll have sit this one out.

In the absence of Mat Gamel, the Brewers are still looking for a first baseman. There's talk of bringing Brooks Conrad up from Nashville and/ or moving Corey Hart to first base. Hart has played first base before. Gamel's season-ending injury comes on the heels of Chris Narveson's season-ending surgery which he underwent this week for a torn rotator cuff.

What do you think? Who should the Milwaukee Brewers put at first base?
